Yulonda Sharnett Manoy was born in Dallas, Texas, on February 2, 1970, to Willis Ray Manoy and Irma Cheatham Manoy. She graduated from David W. Carter High School in 1988. She attended Texas Womens University until her health failed her. She was suffering from kidney failure and had to be placed on dialysis. The doctors said she would not make it without a kidney transplant. Her mother, Irma donated one of her kidneys, and Yulonda’s health immediately improved. She decided to attend the Art Institute of Dallas, majoring in video production.
Yulonda accepted Christ at the age of nine when she became a member of Concord Church under the leadership of the founding pastor, the late Dr. E.K. Bailey. At Concord, Yulonda was a faithful member of the Sunday School Department and the Singles Ministry. She was an active member of the Voice of Love, Voices of Praise, member of the Praise Team, and the Singles Ministry. She loved singing and serving the Lord.
Later Yulonda worked as a receptionist at Park Manor Nursing Home until her health failed her. Yulonda was preceded in death by her brother, Kacedric LaSaul Manoy, and both her paternal and maternal grandparents, Oscar and Emma Manoy, Reuben and Colene Whytus, and Alfred and Marilyn Cheatham.
Yulonda leaves to continue her legacy of love, her precious daughter, April Manoy; her loving parents, Willis and Irma Manoy; her brother, Benequis Manoy; her nieces, Brianna Manoy and Jendayi Manoy; her special cousin, Saundra (Nana) Manoy- Durham; her special “childhood “friend, Carla Jackson; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and host of friends.
