William Huntington Wood (Hunter), the beloved husband of Mary Clayton Wood of Dallas, Texas and father to Hunt Jr.(18), Cathy Jean (16), Saunders (15), and Becca May (9), died April 27, 2016 at the young age of 46.
Hunter is also survived by his parents David B. Wood and Nada R. Wood of Houston, Texas, brothers Carter R. Wood and wife Tram of Asheville, North Carolina and Spencer H. Wood and wife Lauren of Houston, Texas.
Hunter grew up in New Orleans and met the love of his life at the University of Richmond where he graduated in 1992 with a degree in Business Finance. From an early age, Hunter was an ambitious salesman and entrepreneur. Hunter worked in finance in Richmond, Virginia, New York, New York and for the past 15 years in Dallas, Texas as a Principle with Barrow, Hanley, Mewhinney & Strauss.
Hunter is remembered as a loyal family man, loving father, generous giver, and the life of the party. Everyone loved his stories about airplane and taxi evangelism, humorous toasts and his sharp dress. He will be remembered most for is his passion to share the love of Jesus Christ with others.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Watermark Church. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy. The Celebration of Hunter's Life will take place at Watermark Church on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 4:00 PM.
Flowers may be sent to Watermark Church, 7540 LBJ Freeway, Dallas, Texas. A fund has been set up for those desiring to make a gift in Hunter’s memory and may be sent to, The National Christian Foundation: 840 Thousand Oaks Drive, Hurst, Texas 76054 c/o The Hunter Wood Memorial Fund. Gifts will be distributed to Hunter’s favorite ministries including Watermark Church, We Want More, and Eternal Perspective Ministries.
