Ruth was the only child of both parents, raised in the loving home with her mother Faye & William Lafayette Renfro her step dad, all preceded her in death. She had 1 step sister Fayette Marie Renfro-California Ruth was married to Lloyd Wendell Thompson in 1962 and later found the love of her life Maurice W. Brown in 1978 until his transition to Heaven in 1987.
Ruth attended St. Peters Catholic School Dallas, Tx. & a proud 1960 Graduate of Booker T. Washington High School Dallas, Tx.
Ruth was employed by Parkland Hospital as cafeteria staff in 1962 , then later transitioned to Dallas County Sherriff Department where she served as a Deputy Sherriff at Parkland Hospital until 1982. She retired from Dallas County Schools where she was a Sped bus driver for 13 years where she loved the children she served.
Ruth accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was a member of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist church, Honorary member of Greater Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, later became a member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist church when she relocated to Athens Tx.
Virginia Ruth was the proud mother of 4 children, Percy Devon Thompson( precedes her in death), Toni L. Thompson Johnson Athens Tx, Courtney L. Thompson Dallas, Tx, Terry L. Thompson Sr. Dallas Tx., 6 grandchildren Lashammera J. Thompson, Maurice L. Thompson-Najera ( Mario), (preceded her in death), Marcus Thompson, Nicolvia L. Thompson, Terry L. Thompson Jr. (preceded her in death) & Audranae R. Thompson. 4 Great-grand children: Laila L. Thompson, Brooklyn L. Grant, Nilcolevia A. Thompson, Ja'Siyah J. Adisa
daughters in Love: Patricia A. Jones (Pat), Tara Knight (Nikki), Stephanie Stone, Grand-Son in Love: Jamaica Adisa(Jay)
