Valerie Kirk Rosenthal Aronoff, 92, died Tuesday, June 22, 2010, in Dallas. Valerie was born February 14, 1918, in Dallas. Her parents, Zadoc Rosenthal and Esther Groner Rosenthal and her brother, Zade Rosenthal, preceded her in death. On February 7, 1942, Valerie married the love of her life, Billie Aronoff, M.D. Valerie is survived by her children Gail Granek, Dr. Stephen and JoAnne Aronoff, Nancy Aronoff and Dr. Ronald and Karyl Aronoff. Surviving grandchildren are Elise Granek, Josh Granek, Jason Aronoff, Alex Aronoff, Miriam Aronoff, and Matthew Aronoff. Surviving great-grandchildren are Yair Granek, Naomi Granek Brown, and Ozzy Aronoff. Valerie loved her children and her husband so much. She was PTA President at every school attended by her children. She was a graduate of the University of Texas. Valerie was past President of the Dallas County Medical Auxiliary and Medical Center Women’s Club, a volunteer at Parkland Memorial Hospital for 50 years. She was active in many organizations and clubs. A Memorial Service will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 25, 2010 in the Main Sanctuary at Temple Emanu-El, Rabbi David Stern, officiating, with a reception to follow in Linz Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Valerie R. Aronoff Scholarship Fund, c/o Parkland Auxiliary, Volunteer Services, Parkland Hospital, 5201 Harry Hines Blvd., Dallas, TX. 75235, or charity of choice.
