T.L. was a graduate of Springhill High School of Springhill, Louisiana and received a BS degree in Business from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. He was a 32nd Degree Mason under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Florida. He also was an active member of Plano Rotary serving as President in 1984. He also served on the Planning and Zoning Board of Plano, Texas.
Owning and operating Goodyear stores was his first occupation before joining Greensmith’s, Inc.. T.L. continued to work at Greensmith’s until his retirement in 2021.
T.L. often enjoyed hosting fishing, hunting, and golfing trips, especially The Masters in Augusta, Georgia. These outings included close friends whom he worked with in the golf industry. Attending Springhill High School Reunions each year was a highlight of his life. T.L. looked forward to seeing childhood friends with whom he never lost touch. Reliving old memories on Coyle Street and his love for Springhill always stayed strong.
T.L. held his friendships close to his heart, but the love of his life was “Miss Nancy”. He married Nancy Henderson on her birthday, January 28th, 1967. Each year he would jokingly say “he” was the best gift he could ever give her. Together they had their only child, Sherri Lynn Morgan. T.L. made sure his daughter did not want for anything. He also could be heard saying how proud he was of his son in law, Terry Humphrey. When his grandchildren Morgan and Tyler Humphrey were born he discovered a new kind of pride and love. T.L was constantly amazed by the adventures and accomplishments of these two and they were the topic of many discussions. If you ever had an extra five minutes, he would gladly talk to you about his grandchildren for another thirty. Goodbye hugs with Morgan and Tyler were always accompanied with the phrase, “It’s been a slice of Heaven”.
T.L was preceded in death by his parents, Ray D. Morgan and Hazel Morgan and his brothers, Raymond Day Morgan and William “Benny” Morgan.
T.L. is survived by his wife of 56 years Nancy Henderson Morgan of Plano, his daughter, Sherri Morgan Humphrey and her husband Robert Terry Humphrey Jr., of Frisco and by his grandchildren Morgan Bryce Humphrey of Houston and Tyler Andress Humphrey of Bozeman, Montana.
