Thomas Y. Garcia, age 72 passed away on Friday August 12, 2016 at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Thomas was born in Pharr, Texas on April 22, 1944 to the late Thomas Garcia and Elia Ybenas Herrera. He met and married Elena Garcia and were blessed with (1) son and (3) daughters. Thomas was very gifted with his hands and was a skilled carpenter by trade until he retired. Thomas loved his family and loved to spend quality time with them. He was preceded in death by both of his parents: Thomas Garcia and Elia Ybenas Herrera; (2) brothers: Julian and Wally Herrera; (1) sister: Maria Doria; (1) niece Nora and grandson Gabriel Valdez. He leaves to cherish his memories and legacy: his beloved wife: Elena Garcia; (1) son: Thomas Garcia, Jr. of Allen, Texas; (3) daughters: Angie Valdez of Dallas, Texas, Alicia York of Desoto, Texas, and Ramona Antillon of Arlington, Texas; (19) grandchildren and (8) great-grandchildren and host of other relatives and friends that will greatly miss Thomas.
