I am so sorry to hear of your passing. I watched you and your sister Meghan when you were small. You two were two peas in a pod. You could always put a smile on my face with your happy disposition. I know you brought so much happiness to your parents and sister. I could just imagine how you must have turned out as a man. Your life was cut so short.

It had been a long time since we'd seen each other, and I'm glad we got to reconnect through Facebook before it was too late.  I can't bring myself to type the words on this page and say how your life impacted mine, but I know that you already know it.  Rest in peace my friend.

Dear Terry,

You were also the best nephew and godson we could have wanted. We always loved to hear your voice and to see your smiling face. You made everyone you met feel special and appreciated.  Our consolation is in knowing that you must have gone straight to heaven and that you left us with a treasury of memories. St. Paul affirmed long ago that love endures all things and never fails.

Dear Terry, 

Where do I even begin to talk about how much I loved my big brother? You were an amazing, inspirational person and an even better brother and I cannot believe you are gone. I was always so proud of you and we had such a great time growing up together. You were my best friend and partner in crime since the day I was... born and you always looked out for me. We will miss everything about you – your jokes, your laugh, your smile, your voice, your personality, your phone calls just to say hi and see what I was up to, your random funny emails and text messages at all hours of the day and night, your thoughtfulness, and so much more. No matter what the circumstances were, you could always make us laugh and talk your way out of almost anything with your charm. You were always so interested in other people and could make friends with anyone you met. It was almost unbelievable that one person could have so many talents and gifts and you touched so many people in your short 33 years. I know you would not want us to be so sad, but I don't know how we will be able to go on without you. You left us with a lifetime of great memories and we will miss you always. 

You were such an inspiration to everyone who knew you, especially the way you dealt with the injuries from your car accident when you were only 16. You still managed to graduate from high school, earn your Microsoft Engineering Certification from SMU, work for Microsoft and then for the City of Plano for 8 years. You never let your injury stop you from accomplishing your goals and living life to the fullest.

I have so many great memories and funny stories about you that I will always remember. My friends in middle school and high school always wanted to hang out at our house because they all had a huge crush on you. You used to drive your teachers crazy with your classroom pranks and jokes. When you were in middle school, you had a watch that could control the TV in the classroom and you used to secretly change the channel with it while the teacher was trying to show a movie to the class. While you were a patient at Baylor Rehab Hospital recovering from your accident, you hacked into the hospital's intercom system and made an announcement over the loud speaker for all the patients to “rise up and walk – this is God speaking”. When you were back at Baylor just a few years ago for a check up with Dad, the physical therapists remembered you and were still talking and laughing about your announcement to the patients and how much it lightened the mood for everyone. 

You put up such a brave fight the last few years as you underwent 28 surgeries. It was so hard to watch you go through so much, but you always kept such a positive attitude and hardly ever complained. We were so glad you were able to finally leave the hospital in early December and that you were home with us for Christmas for the first time in 3 years. I am so grateful I was off from work for the entire week after Christmas and was able to spend so much time with you.

There won't be a single day for the rest of my life that I won't miss you, think about you, and talk about you. I love you so much Eazy-T and I know you are up in heaven and don't have any pain anymore, playing baseball and running again, probably driving around in a fancy sports car, cracking jokes with our Aunt Maureen, our Aunt Eileen, and all of our grandparents who you loved so much. I know they are so happy to be reunited with you. We were both blessed with the best, most amazing and loving parents anyone could ever ask for, and I know the four of us will all be together again someday. I can't wait to see your smiling face again and until then I know you'll be our guardian angel, watching over our family, and hopefully you will put in a good word for us. May you RIP. I love you so much.

Dear Terry,

You were the best son any mother or father could ever hope to have. When God fashioned you, he gave you an overdose of Irish charm, good looks, a loving disposition, and a heart of gold. You made good use of God's gifts and are an inspiration to everyone who was lucky enough to meet you. You had a big heart and went out of your way to help people, whether it was building a computer ...for free for a waiter you met at a restaurant or spending hours helping everyone solve their computer problems. 

You had many trials and tribulations in your 33 years of life, but you handled adversity better than anyone we have ever known. The car wreck at 16 left you paralyzed, but you didn't allow anything to stop you. You adjusted to life having to use a wheelchair and drove a car again with the use of hand controls. You used your love of computers in your career at Microsoft and Frito Lay and eventually wound up becoming a Police and Fire Dispatcher for the City of Plano. 

You were always cheerful and positive even though you faced many difficult physical challenges. You resisted help and always worked your way through every challenge and never felt sorry for yourself or asked why me. You made us laugh when people talked about getting guide dogs for the handicapped. Your response was, “It's not enough I am in a wheelchair, now they want to give me a dog to look after. Give it to someone who can walk!” 

The past 2 years were very painful for you as you were hospitalized almost continuously and had to suffer through 28 grueling operations. A lesser person would have given up, but you relied on your strong faith in God and the love of your family and many friends to get you through. Your wonderful sense of humor and your charm always came to the forefront in any tough situation. 

You always loved the prayer for your Aunt Maureen and it fits you perfectly. “Grieve not, nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk of me as though I were beside you. I loved you so…T'was heaven here with you.”

Terry, we have had some sad days in our lives, but they all pale in comparison to losing you. Our only consolation is that we will someday meet you in heaven and once again see your beautiful blue eyes and smile. May God hold you forever in the palm of His hand, dear Terry.

Terry will be missed by many. Prayers for comfort and peace to all of his family.

Terry lived and breathed " good will toward all"  that made him a role model for us all. He saw the best in everybody, and everybody who knew him was the better for that. We will miss you, Patricia and Andrew Spence

We had many good times at our house with Terry and all the kids growing up. Those are some fond memories and he will always be dear to our hearts.
