Susan “Sue” Garrett Threadgill went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 30, 2016. She was born on December 23, 1921 in Dallas to Ada Smith Garrett and William N. Garrett, a pioneer Dallas homebuilder and lumber company owner. Sue graduated from Irving High School as Valedictorian of her class. She also attended Texas Tech where she was an honor student. She was a member of Park Cities Baptist Church since November 18, 1956. Throughout her life she was dedicated to serving her church and community, having been active in various alumni, civic and cultural organizations. Her beloved husband of 56 years, J. Garland Threadgill, preceded her in death. She was a loving wife, devoted and proud mother and wonderful grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Sherrye Macha of San Antonio, her son, William Garrett Threadgill and his wife Marjorie of Lubbock, her granddaughter Molly Olson and husband Chase of San Antonio, grandsons, William Cody Macha of San Antonio, David Garrett Threadgill and Daniel Mixon Threadgill of Lubbock, and one great grandson, Owen Landon Olson of San Antonio, and many loving relatives and friends. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, May 8th, from 4pm-6pm at Sparkman/Hillcrest, 7405 West Northwest Highway. A memorial service will be held at 10am on Monday, May 9th at Ellis Chapel, Park Cities Baptist Church, 3933 Northwest Highway. Reception to follow in the Ellis Chapel parlor.
