Steve Gammon "SG" Perry, age 86, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022 in Tyler, Texas. He was born on February 1, 1936 to Steve Perry, Sr. and Tabitha Featherston Perry and graduated from Waxahachie High School. Steve married Opal Perry and the couple had four children, he worked as an Assistant Chief for the City of Dallas Fire Department from June 1, 1958 to January 3, 1987. In his spare time Steve enjoyed carpentry, playing the guitar and playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His family and friends will always remember him as a storyteller, a guitar player, a wonderful grandfather and someone who was loved by many.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Opal Perry in 2016. Left to cherish his memory is his son, Keith Perry; daughters, Bex Humphreys and husband, Jeff Curtis, Cheryl Wilson and husband, Ron Wilson and Valerie Bridger; grandchildren, Dalton and Christy Humphreys, Angela and Gordon Darden, Amanda Hunker, Amber Frizzell and Jake Richey, Lauren Gomez and Manny, Ronnie Wilson, Jr., Steven Perry, Gammon Perry, Clifford and Jessie Wilson and Jeramey Curtis; 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.
A visitation for Steve will be held Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, Texas 75228. A funeral service will occur Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 2:00 PM, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, Texas 75228. A committal service will occur Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Grove Hill Memorial Park following the funeral service in the chapel.
