Shirley Ann Belk, 78, passed away February 13, 2018 in Mesquite, Texas. She was born January 28, 1940 in Dallas, Texas to Billy Otis and Rachel May. Shirley attended High School in Dallas and after graduation attended El Centro College. She then moved with husband, Milton to Quinlan, Texas where she enjoyed the slow paced country life. She was a Union Local 116 Decorator for her entire career and was extremely proud to say that she helped decorate Infomart in Dallas, Texas. Shirley enjoyed painting portraits and different types of scenery, making ceramics, shopping, decorating and cooking and baking for her family. She was a member of the Eastern Star Buckner Chapter 888 and the Civic Group in Quinlan, Texas where she helped promote the amenities of Lake Tawakoni. Shirley is preceded in death by husband, Milton Duncan; parents, B.O and Rachel May; daughter, Brenda Belk and siblings, Charles May and Bobby May. She is survived by children, Glenda Belk Kingham, Patricia Isaacs and Donny Belk; sister, Judy Dimarzio; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Shirley will always be remembered for the strong woman that she was and could never say "NO" to anyone. She was a caring, nurturing and kind woman who had a beautiful soul and everyone that came into contact with her could see that she radiated a Proverbs 31 woman. Visitation will be held Monday, February 19, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00pm at Grove Hill Funeral Home. Services will be held at Grove Hill Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 2:00pm. Interment will follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
