Sherry Hackler Kirk, 69, unexpectedly transitioned to heaven on March 17, 2018 while surrounded by friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Dorothy J. Wood and her father Eugene C. Stoner. She is survived by her brother Gene C. Stoner and his wife Susan Stoner, her devoted children, Gina Hackler Pose and Lisa Yarbough, her loving grandchildren, Adara McGrane, Donovan McGrane, James Yarbough and Emmaline Pose and her beloved beagle Reesie.
Sherry was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and remained a resident of the Dallas Ft Worth metroplex her entire life. She was a loving mother and grandmother devoted to her family and always willing to help those in need. She was a strong, resourceful, and educated woman, whose life was full of family and friends. Her passions and hobbies included country dancing, home remodeling, and interior design. Sherry graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences and was a computer programmer and systems analyst for over 20 years. After accepting an early retirement, she pursued a career in real estate and more recently, with the help of her high school sweetheart and lifetime best friend, Les Hackler, Sherry taught herself stock trading with options trading in equities.
A memorial to celebrate the life and transition of this amazing and memorable woman who touched many peoples’ lives is scheduled for 12:00 pm on Saturday, March 24th, 2018 at Laurel Land Funeral Home. There will be a viewing prior to the ceremony beginning at 10:00 am. All are welcome to attend and join us in the remembrance and celebration of her life.
