Rufus LaMar Williams, II was born in Tyler, Texas on April 10, 1937, to loving parents Rufus L. Williams and Mary Helen Starks Youngblood. He graduated from Emmett Scott High School and attended Texas Southern University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business. Rufus attained his Master of Arts from Columbia University in New York. He has worked as a Business educator at a Dallas ISD High School. Rufus then worked for Arco as the first black business team member in Dallas and later with Bechtel where he worked in Saudi Arabia. Later, Rufus transitioned to become the Dean of Business at Armstrong University in Berkley, CA. After retiring, he taught Business at San Francisco Community College, Mission College in SanFrancisco, and Alameda College. Rufus was a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and the National Alliance of Black School Educators. He was always a kind-spirited and loving man, son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, cousin, and friend. His life ended from complications of Parkinson's Disease.
Rufus is preceded in death by his loving mother Mary Helen Starks Youngblood, father Rufus LaMar Williams, and brother Cecil Williams (Sandra), Rufus is survived by his life long best friend Robert Oatley, son Rufus LaMar Williams, III (Yolanda), and daughter Euranie Theresa DeLaRose Williams Patin (David), grandchildren Chastity Williams, Raven Allen, Courtney Allen, Manon Williams-Burch (D'Andre), Cole Patin, Carson Patin, and Chad Patin, great-granddaughter Laila Allen, great-grandsons Alex Burch and Amon Burch, niece and nephew Tamara McClenton and Cecil Ray Williams (Corey), former wife Euranie De La Rose Williams, a host of relatives, and loving friends.
