Robert Ray Barber

Celebrating the life of a strong and faithful, loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather. Robert Barber was born on November 24, 1937 to Robert and Mary Barber in Marietta, Texas. He graduated from George Washington Carver in Naples, Texas. He was the youngest of 10 children, 8 girls and 1 brother.

Robert met the love of his life Ella Belin and they married - a union that was for 56 years. One son Anthony Ray Barber was conceived. He attended Bethlehem Baptist Church, Marietta, Texas. Robert worked as a long haul truck driver for over 35 years until retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Barber and Mary Nickleberry; brother Windell Barber; sisters, Mareda Nickleberry, Fanolia Wimbush, Eloise Dickerson, Thelda Weeks, Zenobia, Olevia, and Vinetta.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Ella Barber of Dallas, Texas; son Anthony Ray Barber (Jalmera) of Grand Prairie, Texas; Goddaughter Deborah Felicia Mitchell of Bastrop, Louisiana; sister, Verba Jean Webster (L. Gene) of Texarkana, Texas; 3 grandchildren, Britnie Bessellieu Barber (Damien) of Accokeek, Maryland; Ashton Barber of Irving, Texas; and Anthony Jordan Barber of Grand Prairie, Texas; 4 great grandchildren, Breniah Bessellieu, Brooklynn Bessellieu, Brynn Bessellieu, and Bronx Bessellieu of Accokeek, Maryland; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
