Rickie Thomas was born July 6, 1954 in Dallas, Texas to Emma Thomas Malone and Freddy Turner. He graduated from Pinkerton High School and met his high school, Bonnie Verie Merida. They later married on December 21, 1973 and they were married for 47 years.
He practiced a strong, religious faith, was an active member of the church and drove the bus for Great Commission Baptist Church.
Rickie Thomas had many skill and was employed with the City of Dallas Water Department. Later he became a bus driver for Dallas Area Rapid Transit (Dart) and Greyhound Lines before retiring.
He enjoyed sports and was a true Cowboys and Rangers fan.
Rickie was preceded in death by his mother; Emma Malone, father; Freddy Turner; Grandson; Clyde Stevenson Gomez Jr., and his sister in law; Earline Thomas.
Those left to cherish his memories are: his beloved wife; Bonnie Thomas, children; Katrandra Taylor (Dexter) and Keahsha Gomez (Clyde). Grandchildren; Dexter O. Taylor II, Deryck Taylor, Ceylon Hollis, Emilia Gomez, and Elijah Gomez. Great grandchild Jaylynn Hollis and his expectant great grand daughter, Ivorie Camille Taylor. Brother; Myron Thomas, Nephews; Paul Jimmerson, Christopher Thomas, and a host of nieces, other nephews, relatives and friends.
