Richard Edwin Wyll Sr. died Friday, June 11, 2010 at Christus St. Francis Cabrini in Alexandria, LA with his family by his side. Mr. Wyll, a.k.a. “Rick the Nice Guy” was a native of Dallas, Texas who graduated from Hillcrest High in 1974. From 1975 to 1986 Rick owned and operated Rick’s Tire Service in Dallas, but his claim to fame occurred in 1988 when he dressed as Santa Claus for a Dallas Cowboy home game on Thanksgiving Day and was captured in the Dallas Morning News. He was a lover of life and lived his to the fullest. He spent the past several years spending as much time as possible with his grandchildren, as they brought him so much love and joy. His most favorite thing to do was to make sure they had all the ice cream and cokes they desired.
He is survived by his oldest son and wife, Richard Edwin Wyll Junior and Rose Wyll of Bentley, Louisiana; his youngest son, Stephen Abe Wyll of Pineville, LA; six grandchildren, James Goodwin, Joseph Ducote Junior, Christian Cryer, Benjamin Wyll, Tatianna Wyll, and Matthew Wyll and only sister, Sue Wyll and sister in law, Jerianne Ranieri, of Dallas, TX. Mr.Wyll, was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Rosemary Hicks; his brother, Robert Golden; and his loving parents, Abe Wyll and Doris Sanders.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home Chapel in Dallas, TX, with burial to follow. Viewing will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, June 18, 2010 at the funeral home.
