

Better known as "Rickey" passed away on February 14,2020 at 8:59a.m. at Hospice East Texas Tyler. He was born in Dallas to Mabel Irene and Otto Raymond Rowe on August 19,1928.
Raymond grew up in Oak Cliff and went to Sunset High School. He received an athletic scholarship to play baseball. He picked Baylor university as his Alma Mater. He was picked up by the New York Giants to play semi pro ball as a pitcher. This is where he met and married Jan Jones from Ft. Smith, AK and moved to Dallas. Soon after he was drafted into the air force stationed in northern California, Hawaii and Japan.
After his service he then hired on at the Dallas Fire Department at age 22. Moved to Garland, had four children where they spent most of their life. After 30 plus years at Dallas Fire Department he retired and moved to Mineola.
Raymond spent a brief time in Russellville, AR, Horseshoe Bend and Glencoe, AR. He spent his last days in Quitman, TX. He was married 3 times and survived all three wives. He was a loving son, husband and father. He risked his life for his country and his community. He will be greatly missed by many.
Raymond is survived by his children; Gary M. Rowe and Jeff R. Rowe of Wills Point. Laura Rowe Smith of Mineola, grandson Matthew Clark of Rowlett and James Lee Smith of Dallas.
Raymond is predeceased by his wives Jan Jones Rowe, Robbie Rowe and Joan Marie Rowe.
Raymond will be laid to rest on Friday February 21, 2020 at 2:00pm at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas, TX.
