Mrs. Pearlie J Smith

Pearlie Smith, age 68, of Plano, Texas, passed away on December 16, 2016 in Plano at her residence. Pearlie Mae Jefferson was born March 5, 1948 to Lorenza and Jewel Jefferson. She went to school at Booker T. Washington in Marlin, Texas and was named Salutatorian in the class of 1966. Pearlie married her beloved partner of 50 years, Rev. Paul Smith, on June 25, 1966 in Marlin, Texas. While she worked in the banking industry for three decades, Pearlie was also a lifelong prayer warrior with enduring faith. She was a graduate of RHEMA Bible Training Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2001 and served alongside her husband in ministry for several years.

Pearlie is preceded in death by her father, Lorenza Jefferson, brother, Lorenza Jefferson, Jr. and niece, Bennie Johnson. Pearlie is survived by spouse, Rev. Paul Smith; children, Preston (Tanya) Smith and Princess (David) Eboagu; grandchildren, Daniel & Hannah Eboagu, Naia & Callie Smith; mother, Jewel Jefferson; siblings, Marjorie Boston, Betty Burris, Bobby Jefferson, Billy Jefferson, Lorene Modkins, Florene Jefferson, Linda Windham, Eldridge Jefferson, Jeffrey Jefferson; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews, other relatives, extended family and friends.

The family of Pearlie Smith wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at Faith Presbyterian Hospice, the staff at Laurel Land Funeral Home, Bentwood Trail Presbyterian Church, Pastor Elizabeth Callender and the Pallbearers, all of whom are nephews of Pearlie Smith: Roger Brown, Jeremy Modkins, Bobby Jefferson Jr., Kelvin Jefferson, Derek Ellison, Jeff Jefferson Jr.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Bentwood Trail Presbyterian Church with the Eulogy facilitated by Rev. David Richardson and Rev. C. Lincoln officiating. Burial will follow at Laurel Land Cemetery, 6000 South R.L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, Texas 75232. Arrangements are by the Laurel Land Funeral Home.
