Paul Santos Sanchez of Dallas, Texas, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at 66. His passing was unexpectedly sudden, and he died peacefully with his beloved children and grandchildren by his side. Paul was born in Altus, Oklahoma, on October 14, 1955, and was preceded in death by father Jesse R Hernandez, mother Maria Lucia Chavez Hernandez, and brother Joe Ernesto Sanchez. He was the second eldest of six and spent his childhood alongside his rambunctious and energetic siblings, Joe, Raymond, Mike, John, and David.
Having attended Catholic School St. Cecilia, Paul learned practical life skills and was imparted with faith, discipline, and a love of learning that served him well in life. Family and friends jointly agree Paul was both a pragmatic scholar and honorable warrior. Above all, he held his heart highest for his family and fully embraced The After and the Holy Kingdom in spirit and mind. He was whimsical, impetuous, and prodigious when adorning those around him with love, camaraderie, and laughter.
Paul valued both wisdom and hard work, always seeking to instill all around him with knowledge and an understanding of the importance of putting one's efforts into worthwhile endeavors. Paul spent his working years in the welding trade and helped support his mother's home and rental business. By all accounts, a jack of all trades.
Paul is survived by his sons Paul Sanchez and Joe Barajas and daughters Teresa Barajas, Antonia Gomez, Martha Sanchez, and their partners Carlos, Roy, and Dustin. Paul is the origin of numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren of whom he loved and touched deeply.
Visitation for Paul is Monday, February 21, 2022, from 4 pm to 8 pm at the Laurel Land Funeral Home on 6300 South R L Thornton Fwy, Dallas, Texas. The funeral service is the following day, Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at 2 pm. All are welcome to attend.
