Paul Frederick Harrington was born in Dallas, Texas in February 1966. Shortly after birth, it became apparent that Paul would face difficult physical and developmental challenges and Dr. Ray Harrington, a Dallas Ophthalmic surgeon, was called in to see if he might be able to restore Paul's eyesight. That was how Paul first entered the hearts and lives of the Harrington family. Paul was blessed to have Dr. Ray and Nan Harrington as his guardian angels, who brought him into the Harrington family when he was less than one year old. Paul spent his educational and formative years at The Texas School for the Blind; and, after a slow start, Paul progressed and became the bright, humorous and loving individual that all came to know and love.
For someone with the many physical and mental challenges Paul faced, it is incredible that he touched so very many hearts. Everyone always remembered Paul, with his happy-go-lucky nature. Paul remembered everyone...their birthdays, their addresses, the type car they drove and the hairdryer they used. Paul could tell one and all on what day their birthday fell. whether it was several years ago or in the future. Paul adored the water, the rebounder, his CD's, his electric piano, and his friends and his families.
Paul's interests included hanging with his friends, music (especially The Nutcracker Suite and Kenny Rogers), and housework; but, really, Paul's first love was the time he could spend with his families. Paul was one of those fortunate individuals who had three strong extended families, the Harrington's, the Pardee's
and his several group home families. Paul was taken from us way too soon, but we know he has now joined Ray, Nan, Pastora and Spenser in Heaven...and is now at peace.
