Pat graduated from the University of Illinois in 1946 with a degree in Occupational Therapy. That is also where she met her life-long partner and husband, Fred Richard Grisak, who passed away a few years ago. She became a stay-at-home mom until her three children were older, then went back to TWU to earn a Master’s degree in education. Pat was a long time teacher at Wallace Elementary.
She is survived by her daughter Patsi Grisak Tindel and son Tom Grisak and their families, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pat was an artist and prolific gifted writer, concentrating on recording stories of the people she knew or met.
In going through her journals, this passage was found that sums her up very well. “Home has always been at the heart of my life. Every day has proven to be a learning experience or a moment of wonder. My advice to anyone who reads this is to savor each day and enjoy your own company. Get a dog (like my beloved Muffy) and walk off your troubles. And above all, be grateful for what you have.”
A memorial service will be held for her at Highland Springs, 8020 Frankford Road, Dallas, Texas on Wednesday January 22 at 11:00 a.m.
