Patricia Ann Brown Caldwell was born in Nacogdoches Texas on January 2, 1945, to the parentage of Noah B. Brown and Vera Mae Crane. She attended Carver High School in Midland, TX where she met Nettie Swindell. They became good friends, and both moved to Dallas in the seventies and have remained friends throughout the years.
Patricia was briefly married to Willie Curtis Caldwell Sr., and though this relationship wasn’t permanent, they did have two amazing children together.
Patricia accepted Christ at an early age and united with several churches before she found and fell in love
with the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. She served many years until her health failed under the leadership of Rev. Paul Walker as the President of the Hospitality Ministry.
Patricia worked for Safeway for several years as a cashier, she always talked about how great the company and the people were. She worked for Andrews Distributing Company, formerly Miller of Dallas, as a bookkeeper for 24 years before retiring in 2011.
She had a true passion for baking and helping the community. She was known as the cake lady. Her baking skills were impeccable. People came from near and far to buy her cakes, pies, cookies, cobblers, and pickles. Those that knew her knew that her favorite gospel group was The William Brothers. When she was in the kitchen, she would crank up one of these CDs and immerse herself in baking and praising God.
She was a sweet soul and bright light; she had a smile that lit up any room. She knew how to make everyone feel special. She was a diligent worker and a very independent woman.
She loved the Lord, and it showed.
She is preceded in death by her mother Vera Davis, father, Noah Brown, brother Lemanzel Finley, Daughter Sheila Caldwell
