Patricia Jean Everett Buie
Patricia was born July 1, 1931 in Bessie Oklahoma to Arthur and Mary Everett. She spent her childhood living on farms in western Oklahoma and southeastern Nebraska. She graduated from high school in Fairbury, NE in 1949.
Patricia attended Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas and returned to Oklahoma where she worked for Shell Oil Company.
She married Bill Buie on May 10, 1953 and they moved to Dallas where she resided for the rest of her life.
She went back to work in the late 1970’s as a secretary for a district manager at Worldbook Childcraft Company, then worked as a secretary for two different Certified Public Accountants. She left work to provide care for her aging parents at their home in Norman Oklahoma, then moved her father to her home in Dallas to provide continuing care until his passing.
Patricia loved playing the piano and she played the piano and organ for various services and events at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton, Oklahoma and at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Dallas.
She loved working in her yard and flowerbeds, sewing and playing bridge. She also enjoyed cooking and was very skilled at keeping her three boys well fed. She prepared Sunday afternoon meals for the family as long as she was able.
Bill and Patricia joined Central Lutheran Church on Palm Sunday in 1968. She was an active member who served as a Sunday School teacher, assisted with Vacation Bible School and was a long-time member of the Shalom Circle. She also played the piano for several children’s events at Central.
Patricia is survived by sons Scott and his wife Jolie of Richardson, Todd of Dallas, Mark of Richardson, her grandson Reed of Richardson, her brother Larry Everett and sister-in-law Mary of Tulsa, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews.
