FORGEY, OLIVIA “OLLIE” DORA, joined her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, June 14, 2019. She was born in Muenster, TX, on December 14, 1932. She graduated from Sacred Heart HS in Muenster in 1951. At age 19, she moved to Dallas and worked as a typist for Employers Casualty Insurance. In 1953, she met the love of her life, David A. Forgey. She and David were married August 6, 1955, and were marred for 54 years until David passed away in 2009. Ollie was a dedicated homemaker, raising four children. She was a devout Catholic, was a very active member of the Catholic Daughters of America for 55 years and donated much of her time to Our Lady’s Altar Society where she served as President from 1987-88. She volunteered at the Ladies of Charity Thrift Store in Dallas after her children were grown. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels, cooked meals for AIDS patients through St. Thomas Aquinas and also worked part time as a cook for the clergy at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Dallas. Ollie was a sweet, loving Christian woman who put others ahead of her. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother and a good friend to anyone who knew her.
Ollie is survived by her daughter, Mary Lee Coffey and husband, Bob Coffey of Rowlett; daughter, Gretchen Forgey of Austin; daughter, Suzanne Nelson and husband, Dennis Nelson of Denton; son, Chris Forgey of North Richland Hills; granddaughter, Susan Roberts and husband, Justin Roberts of McKinney; granddaughter, Mallory Coffey of Dallas; grandsons, Triston Forgey of Arlington and Jett Forgey of Cannon Air Force Base, NM; great granddaughter, Adeline Roberts of McKinney; numerous siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alois (Lee) and Mary Haverkamp of Muenster, TX.
Visitation and Rosary will be at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home, 10501 Garland Rd., Dallas, on Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 6pm-8pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at St.Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 6306 Kenwood Ave., Dallas, at 10am on Friday, June 21, 2019. Graveside Services will follow immediately after Mass at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Ln., Dallas, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, David.
Pallbearers will be her granddaughter’s husband, Justin Roberts; son-in-law, Bob Coffey; nephews, Tim Schumacher, Kevin Schumacher, Keith Wiesman and Bryan Wiesman. There will be a gathering after the services for the family and friends at Calvary Hill Funeral Home.
