Norma Jean Woodall Sanders, age 83, passed away November 5, 2015 in Dallas, Texas. She was born February 13, 1932, in Royal, Clay County, Iowa, to Phillip Irving Woodall and Lena Christine Toft Woodall.
She grew up in a farming community in northwest Iowa and graduated from Royal High School in 1949. She then graduated from the American Institute of Business in Des Moines, Iowa, and was employed as a Secretary with the Department of Banking, State of Iowa, where she worked for seven years.
On November 17, 1956, she married John L. Sanders and in 1957, they moved to Dallas, Texas, and have resided in the White Rock/Lake Highlands area ever since.
Survivors are husband, John Sanders, children Doug Sanders, Denise Kelly, David Sanders, Dean Sanders, and grandson Jonathan Kelly, brother Ted Woodall, sister Phyllis Rukes, and many other relatives and friends. Mrs. Sanders was preceded in death by her parents and brothers William Woodall, Chris Woodall, Burdette Woodall, and son-in-law Dan Kelly.
She was a long-time member of Central Lutheran Church, Dallas, Texas and a member of Elizabeth Circle. She was also a past member of Pedal Pushers Garden Club, Lake Highlands Garden Club, Auxiliary to Dallas County Pharmaceutical Society and the Azilian Study Club.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Central Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 1000 Easton Road, Dallas, Texas 75218.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sparkman Crane Funeral Home.
