It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Norma Marie Poyner Diamond, who died peacefully on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at the age of 93. Norma was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend to many, and her warmth and caring attitude touched the lives of all who knew her.
Norma was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. She attended Arizona State University where she was the president of the ASU Catholic Newman Club. She moved to Dallas in 1954.
Norma was married to Jack Diamond for an impressive 61 years. They were an inspiration to many, and their support of friends and family will continue to be remembered and cherished by all who knew them. Optimism for life was felt in their sweet sense of humor.
Norma was a dedicated volunteer and friend to her neighbors and the organizations she participated in. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and was known to be depended on by many. Her contributions to her community were numerous, and she was a true force for good.
Norma and her friend Katherine enjoyed sharing a dress shop together. Norma's artistic talent was evident in the amazing portraits she painted and her sense of artistic photography. She passed down her photography skills to her granddaughters, who will continue to carry on her legacy.
In recent years, Norma contributed in many ways to her neighborhood organization, supporting the use of their park space. Her dedication to her community will be greatly missed, but her impact will be felt for years to come.
Norma was "Noni" to Lou Diamond Rosenfeld (Bernard Rosenfeld), Janice Frey (Tom Frey), Jack Diamond (Ann Carpenter Diamond). Grandchildren, Brad Rosenfeld (Lucy Z. Rosenfeld), Adam Rosenfeld, Kari Rosenfeld, Mark Rosenfeld, Tina Diamond Vance (Stuart Vance), Katherine Diamond (Trevor Slocum), and Meredith Frey. Great-grandchildren, James and Max Rosenfeld. Norma had a special close relationship with her nieces and nephews. Her beloved chihuahua companion, Olivia, was a protectorate by her side.
Norma was a shining example of love, kindness, and selflessness. Her family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life.
