As the scriptures state, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith"…this is what our matriarch, Mildred McHaney demonstrated when she entered into eternal rest on May 26, 2024.
Mildred Estella Spinks McHaney was born March 3, 1948, to Adam and Beulah Spinks in Hardeman County, Bolivar, TN.
Throughout her life, Mary, known by those closest to her, was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, a nuturing mother to her children, and a loyal friend to many. She found immense joy in simple pleasures, whether cooking meals for her loved ones, or sharing laughter with friends.
At an early age, she professed her faith and dedicated her life to Christ. Later, as an adult, she joined New Birth Baptist Church, Dallas, TX.
She was united in matrimony to Mr. Robert J. McHaney on February 18, 1974. He preceded her in death on July 21, 2014.
She is survived by her children: Angela, Reverteo (Kefawn), Rodney (Shanita), Bular (Charles);
her siblings: Robert (Becky), Lealorn "Leon" (Mary), Johnny, Raymond (Donna), and Albert Ray; grandchildren: Khari (Marquisha), Jazzlyn, Brishaela, Standrick, Keaton, Kelvin, and KeAndre; and great grandchildren: Khari Jr., and Zacchaeus; and a host of other loved ones and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Adam Spinks; mother, Beulah Spinks; a son who died at birth; siblings: Carl Spinks (Candies), Jo Lena Coates, Adam "Knuckle Head" Spinks Jr., James, and Sarah Ann.
As we bid farwell, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched, and that she is at peace, no longer in pain, surrounded by the love of her heavenly Father and those whom she longed to be with, especially the love of her life Robert “Hank” McHaney.
Your presence we miss, Sweet memories we treasure, Loving you always, Forgetting you never
