Michael Vestal Valentine

Mike grew up in the area once referred to as "Hollywood Heights" in Lakewood near Tenison Park in Dallas. He attended the historic Mt. Auburn Elementary, JL Long Jr. High, & Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas. Mike was an incredible artist and after High school attended University of North Texas, El Centro College & later the Art Institute of Dallas. He owned & operated Valentine Tire Company on Parry Avenue across from Fair Park in Dallas during the 70s. In 1980, Mike & his beautiful wife Judy Densmore, at that time, moved their family from Lakewood to East Texas where he owned Valentine Art Gallery & Frame Shop in Winnsboro, Texas. There, he was a local fine artist, commercial artist, began a magazine called Dallas Better Living, was a home inspector, and served on many boards around Winnsboro, including the tourism committee for the Winnsboro Autumn Trails and the Winnsboro historic society. His later years were spent doing art shows in the DFW area and creating custom tshirts & memorabilia.

He is survived by his son Nathan Valentine & wife Michele of Plano, his daughter Amy Valentine Woodard & husband Lance of Caddo Mills, four grandchildren, Elizabeth Valentine, Victoria Valentine, Max Valentine & Olivia Woodard, his dear girlfriend of 25 years, Susan Bynum. and a half sister, Martha Valentine. Mike is also survived by seven dear cousins, Barbara Meredith Williamson, Linda Johnson, Susie Maret, Debbie Martin, Rodney Cole, Mark Cole & Don Valentine.

A public graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 2:00pm at Grove Hill Memorial Park.

There will be a reception following, at Grove Hill Funeral Home in the Reception Hall where the family would be honored for you to share a memory at that time if you feel led to (no longer than two minutes please.)
