Virginia Moore, 90, of Dallas passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Providencia Group Home assisted living complex in Lewisville, Texas. She will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother to Preston Ragsdale, Mark Ragsdale, John Ragsdale, Adam Peavy Sr. and Amy Peavy Wood. She was the great grandmother of Adam Peavy Jr. and Michael Peavy.
She was born in Honey Grove, Texas on August 25, 1922 to Henry Christopher and Hattie Richardson Johnson. She only saw the very best in others and was blessed with a wonderful Christian spirit. Mary Virginia will always be remembered for her poise and proper actions, kindness and patience, caring for others and following the words of the bible. She left an impact on our hearts as well as our lives. She was an original one of a kind loving mother, good human being who will always seem to us as one of “Gods best creations”, and one who will be impossible to forget.
Survivors include her twin daughters Sally Christopher Moore Peavy and her husband Dan of Richardson, TX and daughter Harriet Johnson Moore Ragsdale and her husband Mike of McKinney, TX. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by the love of her life Eugene Edward Moore in 1984.
A Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm Monday, July 15, 2013 at Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Highway Chapel with Rev. Debra Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Sparkman/Hillcrest. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Ardent Hospice, 700 Parker Square Flower Mound, Texas 75028; She was an honorary member of a teachers sorority in Dallas called Alpha Delta Kappa as well as a member of the Oldest Woman’s Book Club of Dallas called, Bayview Century Club.
