A wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and dear friend, Mary Lou was loved for her generosity, humor, wit and outstanding kindness. She had a beautiful smile and loved to laugh.
Mary Lou was born in Dunkirk, NY on December 29, 1930. After attending SUNY Brockport College, she married Robert Condy in 1951.
In her early years of their marriage, Mary Lou taught at Cardinal Mindszenty HS, in Dunkirk, NY. Their growing family moved several times, before settling in Tappan, NY. Besides raising 7 children, she was a PE teacher at Rosary Academy in Sparkill, NY and a records manager at a law firm in Manhattan.
She and Robert retired to South Carolina in 1991 and built their dream home. Mary Lou loved the community and was an active member at Christ Our King Catholic Church. The constant stream of children and grandchildren visiting brought her great joy.
Mary Lou was an avid tennis player to the age of 80. And watching college basketball was her passion; she never missed a Duke game.
Her seven children survive her: Susan (John) Neely, Roberta Wallace, Jane (Steven) Circh, Patrick (Katherine) Condy, Mary (Keith) Mitchell, Michael (Julie) Condy, and Margaret (James) Brennan, 17 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, John Hickey and William (Eleanor) Condy and 22 nieces and nephews.
Mary Lou is preceded in death by her husband Robert T. Condy; her mother Amelia Zacharias; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Grace (Joe) Eckerle; Helen (Buddy) Bellmer; Clare Hickey; Joan (Buddy) Baberadt.
She will live on in our hearts, minds and souls forever.
The family will celebrate Mary Lou's life with a visitation on Sunday, April 19th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home, 7990 President George Bush Turnpike, Dallas, TX 75252. http://bit.ly/1OfqdB4
The funeral Mass will be on Monday, April 20th at 1:30 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 600 S. Jupiter Rd, Richardson, TX 75081.
