Martha Greening White Solomon, age 87, passed away February 12, 2012. She was a native of Arkansas born in Hope March 31, 1924. She has resided in Dallas since she graduated from the University of Arkansas. She was a chemistry major and received a Bachelor of Science at the University. She was also a member of Tri Delta Sorority. The majority of her career was spent as a teacher at St. Michael's Episcopal Elementary School where she taught 5th and 6th math and science. Martha was a long time member at John Calvin Presbyterian Church of Dallas. Martha was an avid bridge player, member of DAR and a member of the Tri Delta Alumni association in Dallas. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her husband Virgil Solomon and survived by son Virgil Solomon III and his wife Ellen; daughter Julia Solomon Grisham and her husband Steve; and grandchildren, Virgil Wayne Solomon, Bonnie Jeanne Toller, and Mary Ashley Grisham, and six great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday February 14, 2012.
Funeral Service will be held at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home Wednesday February 15, 2012 at 02:00 p.m., with interment to follow at Sparkman Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Family request donation in lieu of flowers be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
