She was the youngest of 3 children and was raised in the Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas, TX.
She had many fond memories of growing up in Oak Cliff and recently had been visiting the area with friends she had while growing up.
She graduated from UT Arlington with a degree in education and began her career teaching special education, Martha’s career in education spanned over 3 decades and ended with the job she enjoyed the most, as a elementary school librarian.
Her lifelong love of books and learning new things made her especially suited to be a librarian. Martha enjoyed quilting, reading, camping, Sudoku, genealogy, and traveling, but most of all she loved her family. Her strong Christian faith made her an active member in any church where she was a member.
She is survived by her brother Don, sons Adam (Sarah) and Ben (Elizabeth), her grandsons Austin, Aaron, Mason, and Samuel and her niece Rhonda who she often thought of as the daughter that she never had, and multiple other family and friends.
We will miss her smile, her laugh, and her wisdom, but we are comforted knowing that she has been reunited with her mother, daddy, and brother Mike who preceded her in death.
