Mark Hector Narvaez

Marky was the third child born to Melinda Cowger Narvaez (deceased) and Hector Narvaez, residing in Dallas, TX. His surviving sister, Sydney Narvaez lives in Dallas, TX, and his brother Alex Narvaez lives in Forney, TX.

Marky was the youngest of eleven grandchildren on his paternal side and the third of five grandchildren on his maternal side. His paternal grandparents, Luis & Dolores Narvaez, reside in El Paso, TX, and maternal grandparents ,Gary & Kay Cowger, reside in Dallas, TX.

From the young age of four, Marky attended the Episcopal School of Dallas from beginner until his high school graduation in 2017. He played many sports but decided to focus on soccer, where he excelled as a defender for his school varsity team.

Upon graduation, Marky followed in his sister’s footsteps and attended the University of Arizona. He later transferred to the University of Texas at Austin and was studying Mechanical Engineering with intent to graduate in May 2023.

Marky was very passionate about cars from a young age, influenced by his grandpa Cowger’s career in the automotive industry. His dream was to become a car designer for a major automobile manufacturer. Marky belonged to car clubs in Dallas and Austin and had many friends that worked together on modifying their sport cars.

But the most important characteristic that we will remember about our beloved Marky was his unwavering soft heart. From a young age, Marky was sensitive and caring to everyone around him. If Marky saw somebody being picked on, you could guarantee he would be there in a heartbeat to defend his peers. Marky never lost that sense of compassion, as evidenced by his ever-growing number of friendships that he developed in his short adulthood. Many considered Marky to be like a little brother to them and his tenderness, warmth & generosity will never be forgotten.

Marky is survived by his father, sister and brother.; four grandparents, ten aunts & uncles and ten cousins.

Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home will be open for visitation on Friday, December 23, 2022, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, at 7405 W. Northwest Hwy., Dallas, TX, 75225. Complimentary valet parking will be provided.
