Mark Raymond Daly Jr., of Irving, beloved, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on January 24, 2013, at the age of 94. He was born in Austin, TX on November 24, 1918, the son of Mark R. and Mary (Reitze) Daly. Mark was preceded in death by his wife, Martha (d. 1966), and wife, Evelyn (d. 2008); his brothers, John and Fr. Claude, S.J.; sister, Madeline; and son-in-law, Solomon J. Karam. He is survived by his five children, Ann Daly Karam, Mark Patrick Daly, Mike Daly and his wife Hope, Tim Daly and his wife Anne, and Laura Daly; eleven grandchildren, Sara Karam Holtz and her husband Joe, Angela Karam, Adam Karam, Samantha Karam Naffah and her husband Joseph, Kate Daly Husted and her husband John, Maggie Daly Watson and her husband Mike, Steve Daly, John Daly and his wife Nora, Clare Daly, Travis Daly and Jeremy Daly; seven great grandchildren, Luke, Charlie and Owen Husted, Sarah, Jace and Jarrett Holtz, and Sophia Naffah; brother, George; sisters, Mary, Margaret, Catherine and Patricia; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Mark was a veteran of World War II, and received his Bachelor’s degree from Centenary College in Shreveport, LA, and his Masters in Accounting from The University of Texas in Austin. He spent his professional career as a Certified Public Accountant in the oil & gas industry. He was a long time member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Dallas, and St. Luke Catholic Church in Irving. He was also a member of the University of Dallas Chapter of the Serra Club, and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council 799 in Dallas. To all who knew him, Mark was a great friend and generous soul, always with a smile on his face and a sense of humor as big as Texas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2pm, Saturday, January 26, 2013 at The North Chapel of Calvary Hill Mausoleum, 3235 Lombardy Ln.
