Margaret Faye White was born on March 10, 1936 in Countyline, Oklahoma. Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Montie White; and two sisters, Kathryn White and Jeane Ratliff. Margaret had a niece, Kay Sibold; a great-niece, Jen Johnson; and a great-nephew, Travis.
Margaret grew up in Oklahoma and attended the University of Oklahoma. After graduating, Margaret moved to Houston where she taught elementary school and attended First Baptist Church Houston. This is where Margaret first met LeRoy and Hannah Till. Margaret lived in Houston for about three years.
When LeRoy and Hannah moved to Dallas, Margaret followed along shortly after. She joined the First Baptist Church in Dallas and the Sanctuary Choir in 1960, where she was an active member until March 2019. Margaret has been an affiliate member since that time. Margaret loved the choir and held many leadership positions including president.
Margaret worked for DISD for 38 years. She taught elementary math and was a TAG (talented and gifted) teacher. During the summer, Margaret worked on her master's degree. She graduated from North Texas with a master's degree in Library Science. She spent the last several years in the library.
Margaret's favorite hobbies were traveling, reading, playing with her cat, and calligraphy. After retiring, Margaret traveled all over the world. Her favorite trips were to Germany. Margaret enjoyed all types of travel, cruises, riverboat cruises and land tours.
