Margaret Helen Phillips

Margaret Helen Phillips was born in Queen City, Texas on January 1, 1933. She was 90 years old. She died at home in her sleep on March 22, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. She looked so peaceful. She lived in Dallas, Texas for 66 years.

Margaret was a stay at home mom. She got to be there for her children, Karla, Michael and Lisa. The neighborhood children were always welcome in her home. Their moms worked and if they needed anything, she was always there for them. They all considered her their “second mom”.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Phillips; daughter, Lisa Phillips; parents, Willie and Pauline Odom; brothers, James and Travis Odom; and lifelong friend, Shirley Laster.

Survivors include son, Michael Phillips of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Karla Boling of Rowlett, Texas; granddaughter, Rachel Smith and husband, Caleb Smith; great-grandson, Landon Smith; and great-granddaughter, Lily Smith of Fate, Texas; grandson, Brandon Boling and partner, Travis Johnson of Wiley, Texas; sister, Joyce Phillips and Bobby Thompson; brother, Eddie Odom and wife, Mary Odom; brother, Pastor Tim Odom and wife, Sharon Odom; lifelong friend, Cherry Lee and daughter, Donna Lee Price; along with numerous relatives and many friends. We are so blessed!

A visitation for Margaret will be held Monday, April 3, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX 75225. The funeral service will begin at 2 PM on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home.
