Margaret Kennedy Kutner “Peg” passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 13. Mom was an outstanding role model for her family and numerous friends of all ages. She was often referred to as an elegant and regal lady and will be remembered for her wisdom, encouraging words, and engaging personality. Most of all, she was a fabulous mom and our number one advocate whose love we never doubted. Mom was born in Waxahachie, Texas, in 1914 to Roger & Myrtle Kennedy. At age 14, she moved with her family to Dallas and enrolled in Oak Cliff High School where she began to express her lifetime interest in art. She attended Southern Methodist University for two years and then transferred to what is now Texas Women’s University graduating cum laude with a degree in art. In 1939, she married Jack Kutner. Their loving relationship lasted forty years until our father’s death in 1979. Mom was an accomplished artist whose paintings were sought after both nationally and internationally. She also gave freely of her paintings to various retirement homes, hospitals, charities, and city projects.
