Manford Lee Edgington Jr., 78, of Carrollton, Texas, passed away on August 31, 2021 after a long battle with Parkinson’s as a result of being exposed to Agent Orange in Vietnam. He proudly served as a U.S. Navy Corpsman during the Vietnam war at the Naval Support Activity Naval Hospital (NSANH) in Danang where he treated the wounded.
Manford was born in Pangburn, Arkansas, on March 31, 1943, to Manford and Lydia Edgington. He is survived by his wife Katie Elias Edgington, son Manford Edgington III (Trey), stepchildren Darren Bayliss, Danny Bayliss, Caroline Bayliss Johnson, and Tania Bayliss Dounley, siblings Joanna Nelson and Stewart Edgington, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The oldest of three sons and younger brother to four sisters, Manford was a gentle and kind man, a man of honor and integrity, and dearly loved his family. He was always ready to lend a helping hand. He loved exploring the outdoors, camping, gardening, going on motorcycle rides with his buddies, and chatting with old friends.
He earned two bachelors’ degrees in accounting and business administration and ran his own business as a Certified Public Accountant for over 35 years.
Visitation hours at the Singing Hills Funeral Home is on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 6pm to 8pm.
Funeral services with honors will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
