Mallory Lykes Maclay Creixell went to be with the Lord on August 9, 2020, surrounded by her family. Mallory was born in Houston, Texas, on May 11, 1962, to Douglas Weller Maclay, Sr. and Sue Bigham Lykes Maclay. She moved with her family to Dallas, Texas, at age two. After graduating from The Hockaday School in 1980, Mallory attended Vanderbilt University for two years before transferring to the University of Texas where she graduated in 1984. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi. Mallory began her career with The Dallas Morning News before following her dream to move to New York City. She pursued a career in advertising with Macy's and later Talbots. In 1991, Mallory's intuition and sense of adventure took her to Barcelona, Spain, and in 1993 she was wed to Gerardo Recolons Creixell. They ultimately returned to Dallas and raised three beautiful children, Elena Maclay Creixell, Christopher Lykes Creixell and Matthew (Mateo) Andres Creixell. Mallory was a devoted mother, always encouraging each of her children to follow their dreams. Mallory's winsome smile would light up a room and she made you feel welcomed, accepted and loved. Her great wit and mischievous manner were sure to produce a laugh. Her greatest joy was found in helping others. In 2014, Mallory began inspiring healthy living through her commitment to The Juice Plus Company. Always desiring to grow and learn, Mallory received her real estate license while in the beginning stages of her journey to battle cancer. Outside of her family, she served as family to many others. At the early age of 26, Mallory chose a life of sobriety and living one day at a time. She used this method of living, along with her strong faith, as she faced her brave journey with cancer. Mallory was a mentor and confidant to countless women who battled the disease of addiction. In May of 2020, she celebrated 32 years of sobriety. Mallory will be sorely missed on this earth, but the celebration in heaven is filled with so many who loved her deeply especially her father, Douglas W. Maclay, Sr. who welcomed her saying "Well done Mallory Babes". She is survived by her husband, Gerardo Creixell; her children Elena, Christopher and Mateo Creixell; her mother, Sue Maclay; her sisters, Leslie Washburne, Martha (Kent) Sweezey, Susan (Clayton) Rote; her brother, Doug (Harriet) Maclay; her mother-in-law, Gloria Recolons; her brother-in-law Bernardo (Marilen) Creixell and many cherished nieces, nephews and her large extended family.
