Lynn Trimble Hill passed away peacefully on December 17, 2022, after a long, difficult illness. She was born to Christians, Robert and Winnie Trimble, on March 12, 1930 ,in Greenville, TX. She trained extensively with the Dallas Little Theatre. She entered SMU in 1947, graduating there after attending UCLA. She was a member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday school for 14 years, held various offices in the Women of the Church and was a deacon.
For many years she had her own radio programs on WFAA, WRR, KGVL and KIXL. Lynn was in advertising for ten years and public relations another ten. Involved in teaching in the DISD and years of substituting at HPHS, she took special joy in teaching geography, as she had traveled much of her life to the fifty states and numerous times to all of the continents, except Antarctica.
Her active civic life included serving on the women’s boards of Alumnae of Kappa Kappa Gamma, Dallas Civic Opera, Dallas Summer Musicals, Dallas Symphony Orchestra League, Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary, Dallas Junior League, Dallas Country Club Woman’s Golf Association, Dallas Garden Club, Junior League Garden Club, numerous scholarship committees and several book clubs. She was a member of The Dallas Woman’s Club and The Mary K. Craig Class. For years, she was a volunteer at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. She loved gardening. She was among the first to do English gardening Texas style. Many of the flowers in her garden were there to attract butterflies, to the great delight of the neighborhood children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas R. Hill. She is survived by Gean Dunlevy, John Heidmann and many beloved, loving friends.
Special recognition goes to her devoted caregivers of many years: Belinda Arvizu, sisters Lucy and Dolores Ibarra and Dalia Mendoza.
The inurnment will be held at Highland Park Presbyterian Church at a time soon to be determined. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
