Lonnie E Darst

Lonnie E. Darst, 87, of Grand Saline, Texas passed away on January 17, 2018. He was born in Terrell, Texas to Francis Edward and Ollie Marie Darst on November 17, 1930. Lonnie was in the National Guard Reserve and worked for 7-Up bottling company for 40 years and with Baylor Hospital of Dallas maintenance. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and Main Street Baptist Church. Lonnie enjoyed collecting stamps, solving crossword puzzles and working in his yard. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Billie Ann Darst and parents, Ollie Marie Darst and Ed Darst. Lonnie is survived by his wife, Kathleen Darst; children, Lawrence Darst and Janet Ayres and husband, Dallas Ayres; grandchildren, Andrea Pruett and husband, Blake, Kristina Ayres and great-granddaughter, Krislyn Pruett. Stepchildren, Debbie Killingsworth and husband, Billy, Jackie Abbott and husband, Jimmy, Keith, Randy and Calvin Bow; six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Friday, January 26 from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Grove Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 27 at 10:00am at Grove Hill Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
