Lilia Martinez

On the morning of November 15, 2015 , Lilia passed away after a 2 year battle with Alzheimer's and dementia while being attended by family members at 2402 Ingersoll st Dallas , Texas. Lilia was born in the town of Terlingua , Tx on January 21,1927. She was the first child and the first daughter of Isabel and Abram Avila. Mrs. Lilia Martinez was best known for her cheerful and care free attitude , as well as her undying love for her husband Albert Martinez Sr. and children. Everyone who knew Lilia knew of her open door to her home , all were welcome in her loving home in time of need or a place to clear their mind of all troubles . Lilia was quick to offer you a cup of coffee or a freshly made tortilla to fill your belly. Everyone who came to visit also knew not to interrupt her story times because soap opera's were her passion . Lilia was a very active gardener and found her peace planting and trimming her hedges , one thing you could always count on is that our grand mothers yard will be kept and watered. Her passion and joy was to be around her family , to laugh and love , to be happy and loving to the people she cared for most . Lilia was preceded in death by her loving husband Albert Martinez Sr., sister Lola Salinas , daughter Angie Moralez, grand daughter Cynthia Costa, father Abram Avila, mother Isabel Avila . Lilia was survived by son's Albert Martinez Jr, Frank Martinez , Abraham Martinez, Miguel Martinez ; Daughter's Rosa Gutierrez , Elizabeth Albarran , Beatrice Gonzalez, 32 grand children , 78 great grand children and 9 great great grand children .
