

LEO JOSEPH DAGLEY, JR. (“L J”) was born on Mother’s Day, May 11, 1930, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was the third son born to Mary Louise Lawshe Dagley and Leo Joseph Dagley, Sr. Leo was schooled in New Orleans, Louisiana and Evansville, Indiana. He graduated from Purdue University, with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Leo then, served as a Staff Sargent, 2nd Armored Division, German Occupation forces from 1953 to 1955. He began his career in a research and process development role with Phillips 66 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and then at DART Industries in Texas. He concluded his career in the very satisfying field of insurance risk assessment of refining and petrochemical facilities, which afforded him the opportunity to travel worldwide. Leo retired in 1997.
In that same year, Leo married the love of his life, Edwina (Eddi). He and Eddi loved traveling abroad. Throughout his life he also, loved golfing, fishing, and bird hunting. He taught youth and adult Sunday School, participated in bible studies, choirs and in church administration. His community activities included: PTA, Little Theater, Pumpkin Patch, ESL and was a 30-year Barbershop singer in the Dallas area.
Leo is preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, Kenneth H. Dagley (& wife Virginia) and Francis E. Dagley (& wife Loree).
He is survived by his wife, Edwina (Bawel) Dagley; his children: daughter, Debra Brock, her husband Steve, daughter Lucy Pruitt, her husband Kal, son, Eric Dagley and his wife Lisa; grandchildren: Allyson Greenwich, her husband Jason, Hunter Pruitt, Brett Brock, Mandie Brock Schuchard, her husband Jason, Adam Dagley, his wife Layci, Jason Dagley and Alex Dagley; great-grandchildren: Jake, Julia, and Joshua Greenwich, Symphony and Luke Dagley, and Zachary Watterson; and Eddi’s family: son, Brandon Bawel, his wife Janie, and daughter, Lisa Bishop; grandchildren Brooke Bawel, Chuck Bawel, Lauren, her husband Shawn Tatton, and Connor Bishop.
A Memorial Service will be held at First United Methodist Church of Rockwall, Texas, on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at 1:00 in the afternoon. Interment will be at Park Lawn Cemetery in Evansville, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Leo to the Parkinson’s Project and Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance.
