Laqueta Joyce Wolford

Laqueta Joyce Wolford, of Rowlett, Texas passed away on August 8th, 2022 at the age of 84. Laqueta was born March 27, 1938 in Saltillo, Texas to Horace & Lillian Payne. She was raised in Dallas, Texas and attended Forest Avenue High School. She moved to Rowlett, Texas in 1996.

Laqueta married Carroll Wolford in 1972 and they would have celebrated 50 years on November 10th. She had three daughters; Cheri, Brandy, & Leslie. She was also the co-owner of a successful business for 42 years. In her spare time, Laqueta enjoyed shopping, decorating, dancing & time with her family, grandkids and friends. She was also known for cooking her wonderful holiday meals along with baking cookies, brownies and cakes. Anytime she could feed someone a good meal, she was happy! Her friends will always remember her as an extremely welcoming person as well as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and shopping pal.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Horace Hagle Payne & Lillian Irene Simpson Moss, step-mother; Pauline Payne & her brother; Lloyd Payne. She is survived by her husband; Carroll Wolford; daughters; Cheri Thornhill Mann, Brenda "Brandy" Ludick & husband Wilfred, & Leslie Wolford; her grandchildren; Mason Tyler Mann & wife Terry, Kyle Dane Ludick and Micah Tanner Mann; two step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren, three nieces, and countless loved ones and friends.

A memorial service for Laqueta will be held Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 2:30 PM. Following the memorial service will be a reception from 3:15 PM to 5:00 PM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228.
