Kenneth Felix Nobra, 72, of Garland, Texas passed away on Friday, March 5, 2021, surrounded by loved ones. After fighting to recover from multiple strokes, he was finally brought home to pass peacefully.
“Kenny” as he was affectionately called was born on August 2, 1948 in Dearborn, Michigan to Lottie Marie Petrowski and Felix Grady Nobra. He was the firstborn of three boys, David Nobra and Richard Steven Nobra. He was raised in the Catholic church and spent his early years in Michigan before moving to Texas in 1959.
After completing high school at WW Samuell High School in Dallas, Texas, he was drafted and served a tour of duty in Vietnam during the Vietnam War in 1968. After being discharged honorably from the Army, Ken began work in the beverage industry as a sales representative in Dallas. He found his true passion by helping manage the family business with his father and brothers, F&S Foreign Cars, a sales, service and retail shop in Pleasant Grove, Texas. He retired after 30 years at the shop.
Ken was charismatic, outgoing, selfless, had a great sense of humor and people were simply drawn to him. He loved hunting, gardening, cooking, shopping and most importantly being with his family and friends. He was a family man who loved to brag on his biggest loves, his grandchildren Tori Liverman (Leah), Madeline Pineda (Leah), Noah Brooks (Ashley), Jackson Brooks (Ashley), Landry Newton (Ashley), Lance Conrad Newton (Ashley), Damien Nobra (Anthony), Aidan Lugo-Pelatti (Anthony), Andrew Huck (Tracy), Lauren Huck (Tracy), Sydney Huck (Tracy) and great-granddaughter Mia Pineda (Madeline).
He was a husband to Lorraine Nobra (Germany), father to Leah Douglas, Angela Henry (Chris), Ashley Newton (Lance), and Anthony Nobra, step-father to Tracy Huck (David), Michael Germany, and Rick Germany.
He will be fondly remembered and missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and many friends, especially his bootcamp and life-long best friend Dave Humphreys (Christina). Special thank you to Colonel Michael McClendon who assisted the family during their time of need.
