Karen Sue Shaffer

She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Howard Shaffer, Jr., her mother Geraldine (Cook) Reader, and father Donald Chester Reader. Karen is survived by her three children, a sister, and a brother. The three children are Jennipher Burns of Yukon, Oklahoma; David Shaffer of Lancaster, Texas; and Wesley Shaffer Irving, Texas. The sister and brother are Nancy Stead of Boise, Idaho and Steven Reader

of Amarillo, Texas.

Karen worked a wide range of jobs from working at Pikes Peak Laundry and Dry Cleaners to full time caregiver of dad. Her first job was at Pikes Peak Laundry and Dry Cleaners in Colorado Springs, Colorado doing various tasks for a couple of years. In Texas she worked for the Lancaster school district as the high school cafeteria cashier lady during our school years.

For a brief time she worked in layaway at Kmart and for a brief time a volunteer at Charlton Methodist Hospital. The majority of her work was taking care of dad. After the death of dad, her last job was a part-time job at Dollar General. She had a love for yardwork, interacting with customers, and loved God

wholeheartedly.
