Joseph Ryan Grimshaw

Joe was born in Dallas, Texas on May 4, 1992 to Michael F Grimshaw and Cindy Carroll Grimshaw. He attended St. Monica Catholic School and Jesuit College Preparatory School, a graduate of 2010.

Joe was a man of character who lit up the room with his infectious smile, charm and humor. A true man of honor and deep kindness, he was always the first to help and be there for his friends and family in times of need. From a young age, Joe adopted a fondness for the outdoors. Hunting, camping, and fishing with his family and friends were among many of his pastimes, and this passion helped him achieve the rank of Eagle Scout during his high school years. He competed at the varsity level in both Crew and Rugby, and he continued his enthusiasm for sports into his adult life as a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Mavericks, and Stars. Recreationally, he enjoyed wakeboarding, wakesurfing, as well as being known as a pool shark amongst his friend group. His competitive attitude extended to Fantasy Football, where he accumulated 6 championships across his many leagues. Joe was a life-long fan of Electronic Dance Music and was often spotted at local concerts, eventually self-developing his talent as an aspiring DJ. His sense of humor showed in his music and his two DJ names, Gravity and Stairmaster. Joe was known for his infectious personality and made fast friends through his charm and unique sense of humor. As often as Joe spent time with his friends, he especially loved his dog Odin, a 4-year-old Goldendoodle who was always by his side and shared Joe’s warm, friendly disposition. Together, they went on numerous adventures touching the lives of countless people. Odin mirrors Joe’s warm, happy and energetic personality. Joe will be deeply missed and treasured by the vast number of friends whose lives he’s touched.

Joe is preceded in death by his father, Michael Grimshaw and is survived by his mother, Cindy Grimshaw and brothers Jim Grimshaw, Thomas Grimshaw and his wife Anastasiya. Nieces Lana Grace Grimshaw and Kira Morgan Grimshaw. Aunts Denise Cupp, Thomasina Grimshaw, Renee Carroll and Uncles Mike Carroll and Pete Grimshaw and his wife Kathy. Cousins Cassie Carroll, Clay Carroll and his wife Madison, Cody Carroll and Chris Parsons.
