He is survived by his 10 children; Jaime Garza, Graciela G. Rubio, Lupe G. Billingsley and husband James, Gloria Carrion and husband Benjamin, Maria Sweeten, Jose T. Garza Jr., wife Virginia, Juana Gonzalez, Paula P. Garza, Cruz Garza Juarez and Simona Garza, preceded in death by his wife Zoila P. Garza and grandson Adam R. Aguero. He was blessed with 32 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. His family was his joy. In addition, he is survived by his sister Mercedes Longoria, of Mansfield, TX, several half siblings and many nieces and nephews.
He was born September 11, 1931, to Julian and Simona (Torres) Juarez in Santa Maria, Texas. Shortly after his birth his mother died and he was adopted by his maternal Aunt Mauricia and her husband Guadalupe Garza. Jose married Zoila Ponce on October 10, 1955, in San Benito, Texas and shared 36 years together until her death in March 1991. He was a hard, honest and proud worker. In his youth and early adult life he worked in the South Texas cotton fields. In 1959 he moved his family to Dallas where he made his new home and worked in the Construction, blue collar, industry for over 30 years.
He was known to his family as Vito & Pepaw (grandpa). He was also a loyal friend to many. His favorite past times were fishing, listening to music and he was a longtime Dallas Cowboys fans.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, March 3, 11:30am at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, 4015 S. Hampton Rd, Dallas, TX 75224 followed by burial at Calvary Hill Funeral Home, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, Texas 75220.
