John Frederick Rouquette, age 77, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2024, in Dallas, Texas. Born on April 28, 1947, in New Orleans, Louisiana, he was the beloved son of Yvonne and Edward Rouquette. John’s early life took him through Louisiana, Hawaii, and California. He graduated from Tulane University in 1969 with a degree in Biology.
John approached everything with an enthusiasm and a vibrant spirit that was evident in all his endeavors. An avid swimmer, surfer, and water polo player, he cherished time spent in the water. John was All American high school athlete. He received a scholarship to Tulane University for water polo and set school records in swimming. John excelled in his professional medical sales career and was recognized as the top sales producer on many occasions. He was passionate about art and spent countless hours painting, expressing his creativity and appreciation for beauty. John also found joy in cheering on his beloved children & grandchildren at their sports events, never missing an opportunity to be their biggest fan.
Those who knew John will remember him as a remarkable storyteller, a man who had a unique ability to make everyone feel valued and important. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who took immense pride in the achievements of his family. His warmth and love were felt by all who crossed his path.
John is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jack, and the mother of his daughters, Margaret. He is survived by his loving wife, Yolanda; his two daughters, Julianne Cary (Mark) and Lauren Braun (Will); his stepdaughters, Elizabeth Tellier (Franck) and Aissa Foyt; and his cherished grandchildren, Graham and Caroline Cary, Logan and Caden Tellier. He is also survived by his brothers, Edward (Carmen) and Thomas (Kathy), along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
John was a man of integrity, pride, and dignity in everything he did. Whether he was organizing epic scavenger hunts for his daughters’ birthday parties, grilling teriyaki chicken for family gatherings, or excelling in his professional life, his enthusiasm and commitment were unwavering. John will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched. John was a great man, our great man.
A service to honor John’s life will be held at 11:00am on Monday October 21, 2024, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church located at 6306 Kenwood Ave, Dallas, Texas 75214.
