John Kershaw was a citizen of three earthly worlds: Palestine (Israel); England; and America. Now, there is the spiritual world to which he has just attained, our Heavenly Home with the Lord Jesus Christ. John held passports for all these countries and used them as needed. He prepared long and well for that last journey into his heavenly citizenship and just turned in his last passport.
He will always be remembered as a husband, father, Pastor and friend to all that knew and loved him.
He was born on April 15, 1929 in Ramleh, Palestine to Robert and Suaad Kershaw.
John attended boarding school at Terra Centa College in Jerusalem and Bible College in Tulsa, OK. While ministering at her home church in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he fell in love with “Tigger” Scott. They were married on September 5th, 1953, and were then blessed with two wonderful children, Susan Aleece and John Robert.
He was preceded in death by father, Robert Kershaw; mother, Suaad Kershaw; sister, Aleece Kershaw; brother, George Kershaw; and sister, Laura Watson.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Ella H. Kershaw; daughter, Susan Mars and husband Jim Mars; son, John Robert Kershaw; sister, Deana Bevan; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may gather for a visitation on Thursday, November 16th, 2017 at 6-9p.m. at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 Northwest Highway in Dallas.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 17th at 1:00p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Richardson. Burial will follow in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
