John Stanley Jones

It is with great sadness that the family of John Stanley (Sonny) Jones, son of Ellis and Ruth Jones, announces his passing on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at the age of 82 years. Sonny was a retired member of the local 59/20 Electricians Union and a proud sergeant in the US Marine Corps, serving in the Korean War. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed the outdoors and was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. He loved his country. Sonny is survived by his wife of 63 years, Josephine Morale Jones, children Stephanie Burgess and husband George, Annette Scudder and husband Tommy Holloway , Duke Jones and wife Alicia, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sister Patsy Ruth Fain, brother-in-law Matt Morale and wife Joan, sisters-in-law Pauline Parr and husband Raymond, and Angeline Crawford and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 12 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Calvary Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 13 at 10 a.m. at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas.
